Description
A quick, 5-minute weeknight drink that combines cold brew coffee with real brown sugar and cinnamon for a cozy, caffeine-boosting treat without the artificial syrups.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cold brew coffee
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup milk or cream (oat milk for dairy-free)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Ice cubes
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- If making cold brew from scratch, steep coarse coffee grounds in cold water for 12-24 hours, then strain.
- In a glass, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Add 1 tablespoon of hot water to the sugar and cinnamon mixture and stir vigorously until the sugar is mostly dissolved to create a syrup base.
- Pour 1 cup of cold brew coffee over the sugar mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour in milk or cream and stir gently to create swirls.
- Fill the glass to the top with ice cubes.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired, then serve with a straw.
Notes
Use hot water to help dissolve the brown sugar as it does not dissolve well in cold liquid. For a batch version, mix 4 cups cold brew with 1 cup brown sugar syrup and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Store in the fridge for up to a week. Add a pinch of salt to enhance sweetness and balance bitterness.
